MELBOURNE, Fla. — Healthcare workers have always been one of the most dedicated and giving people who serve the Brevard community, and these trying times have continued to prove how essential they are. Brevard Heart Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to improving and promoting quality healthcare in our local community through scholarships and initiatives, wants to recognize these invaluable frontline workers through their “Heart of a Hero” campaign.
Participating is simple – share your stories of how a local Brevard healthcare worker has made a difference in your life or the life of a family member or friend! Along with highlighting each hero and their story on their social media pages, the Foundation will randomly draw one nominee per quarter to win a $50 gift card. The nomination form can be found at www.brevardheartfoundation.org/heartofahero.
“We understand that this pandemic has driven uncertainty, fear, and sadness for many, and at the same time it has brought out the best in many members of the healthcare industry who have been there with us every step of the way.” States BHF President, Travis Proctor. “We have heard incredible stories about heroic efforts and meaningful small acts of kindness by many healthcare professionals, and our Heart of a Hero Campaign is one way we can collectively recognize and thank these heroes.”
The campaign was created after the Foundation realized that many healthcare workers currently feel overwhelmed and underappreciated during this time when the health and wellbeing of our community relies heavily on their expertise and compassion. Whether seeking healthcare for a routine appointment or for more advanced care, Brevard County is home to various healthcare professionals to meet our community needs and in the past year, many have gone above and beyond the call of duty to serve our local community.
